Phi Phi Islands, far from Krabi Province for roughly 40 kilometers, are a part of Noppharatthara National Park - Phi Phi Islands. Originally, sea folks called these islands “Pu-Lao-Pi-A-Pi” which the words “Pu-Lao” means “Islands” and “Pi-A-Pi” means a species of sea trees, a kind of Aegiceras cornicalatum and mangrove. Later, they called it “Pi-Pi tree” which its sound subsequently became “Phi Phi”. The folks believe that it is a Kingdom of Flowers under the Ocean.
